The height of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, is 6,844.43 meters, according to the Chinese survey team. They have confirmed this height by summiting from the Tibetan zone of Everest. The Chinese survey team says that the height of Everest is 4 meters lower than the height that Nepal has been talking about for so long.

Indian media NDTV reported this information on Thursday (May 26).

On May 1, a Chinese team began a new survey to measure the height of Mount Everest, disagreeing with Nepal's measurements.

After the summit of Everest, the Chinese team started measuring the height of the snow-capped mountains with the help of technology by replacing the satellite system antenna on Global. It gets less than 20 square meters or about four meters in height from Nepal's calculations.

Chinese surveyors have conducted six-point measurements and scientific research for this measurement. Earlier, in their survey in 1985 and 2005, the height of Everest was 848.13 and 744.43 meters respectively.

Everest is called Mount Komolangmar in Tibetan. These changes in the mountains are significant for the global study of geology and ecology, and have had a major impact on people's lives, said Chen Gang, an engineer with China's Ministry of Natural Resources.

Accurate height measurement of Everest is very important in the study of the height change in the Himalayas and the Qinghai Tibet Plateau.

The Chinese team was at the summit for two and a half hours after the summit, which is a new record for Chinese mountaineers. China and Nepal settled their border dispute in 1971 through the Everest Summit.

China claims that international mountaineers are choosing the Tibetan side over Nepal in terms of infrastructural development. Although Nepal closed the summit due to the corona virus, it was reopened after May 1 from the Tibetan side. Chinese mobile company Huawei has already launched the world's highest 5G network on Everest. Which is placed at an altitude of 6 thousand meters. The company said it was still researching whether the network's capabilities could be maximized.
