From now on you don't have to go to the bank to open an account. A bank account can be opened in two minutes sitting at home. Customers will get this facility through Sonali Bank's mobile app Sonali e-service. The Sonali e-service app will be available on the Google Play Store.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak officially inaugurated the 'Sonali e-Seba' mobile app through a virtual program on Wednesday afternoon.
Initially only Android users will get this facility. Other users, including iOS, will be able to take advantage of this periodically. In order to ensure this service at the earliest, the customer's picture and personal information will be automatically verified by the software 'Identity' of the Ministry of Information and Technology.
Junaid Ahmed Palak said, "The partnership between Sonali Bank Limited, the Ministry of ICT, Identity and Bangladesh National Digital Architecture is a great example of the implementation of the e-KYC system prescribed by Bangladesh Bank."
Sonali Bank Chairman Ziaul Hasan Siddiqui said, "It is a matter of time. In this changed situation, we have taken steps to open an online bank account to provide IT-based banking services from the customer's doorstep. This will allow the customer to open an account with Sonali Bank in just two minutes at home. '
